Behind-The-Scenes: Why Would Babe Box Host an Instagram Workshop?

You might be wondering why Babe Box has decided to put together an Instagram Workshop – what’s our purpose? What do we hope to gain from this?

The idea came from all of you, actually! We were inspired by all the bloggers and influencers who take the time to write to Babe Box to collaborate with us. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there to brands –kudos to you. But, the endless emails and DMs were not doing anyone justice.

The DM’s saying “Hey, how about you send me free stuff and I’ll post about it – yeah?” doesn’t look or sound interesting. You might be shaking your head internally, but we received these – A LOT of these. Working with brands is fulfilling a contact that is mutually beneficial to both parties. You know that you want to work with them, but why should they work with you? You’ve got to sell yourself!

While putting our motto of “babes helping babes” in the forefront of this workshop, we want to continually support bloggers and influencers with knowledge that’ll help them to hone the skills needed to pursue their passion of being a social media influencer.

Our goal is to educate and empower young women (men too, but 100% of the emails came from women), expand the number of social influencers in the city, create a setting for networking with industry peers and professionals, and most importantly, urge women to empower themselves while leading by example.

Anyone can become an social influencer with the right tools, network and knowledge. We want to show you how! Click the banner below to read more about the Instagram Workshop and RSVP for May 24, 2017 - see you there!

ABOUT JESSICA HARWOOD

I’m not going to pretend to write this in third person to make it sound fancier. When I was 16 I interned at Faze Magazine as a writer. That year also happened to be the first year that Faze decided to throw a live event. I participated in anyway I could, like a helpful intern would, and I fell in love with event planning. Fast forward 4 years later, Faze Magazine hires me as their Special Projects Manager. During my 4 years at Faze I was responsible for live events, social media and editorials. All those areas included collaborating with the brands.

I left Faze and started Babe Box in February 2016. With my new position, I’m still constantly collaborating and working with brands on sampling opportunities in the box, editorials on our website or posts on our social media platforms. With over 5 years of working with brands, I’m sure that I have a few tidbits of knowledge that can help you prepare yourself, and your brand, to book partnerships too.
