Some of the best things about the new season are the smells that come with it – think freshly cut grass, sun cream and pitchers of coconut rum-infused cocktails. The scent of summer is well and truly in the air. From fresh zests to one’s that smell like your favourite getaway, the quest for your go-to summer scent is never too wide off the mark. Here’s some of our favourite summer scents to try this season.
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Mimosa, $40
A fresh new fragrance that transports you to a secret garden of sparkling citrus florals. Inspired by the animated pom poms of the mimosa flower, Green Tea Mimosa is the refreshing accent to every summer look. Top notes of Green Tea intermingle with citrus to dazzle; awakening your senses. Bubbly Moroccan Mimosa Absolute wraps you in a youthful aura, breathing life into the still summer air with a soft finale of Heliotrope and Ambrette Seed.
Marc Jacobs Rain, $70
Back by popular demand, Marc Jacobs' Splash fragrances look just as chic on your dressing table as they smell on your wrist. While they're all perfect for summer, our favourite is Rain. After all, it's impossible to visualise British summertime without a little drizzle.
Clean Lovegrass, $95
I am a big fan of CLEAN because they not only make fragrances with the environment in mind, they make fragrances that are paraben free, sulfate free and free of harsh toxins. Lovegrass is one of their newest scents that’s perfect for spring. It’s a warm, light, refreshing citrus floral scent with deep base notes of Amber Wood, Patchouli, Labdanum and Skin musk. Bright citrus notes of Clementine, Orange Blossom, and Lemon Blossom along with a hint of Black Pepper work beautifully together. It’s a warm summer breeze in a bottle. It reminds you of long summer days laying in the grass or having a picnic in the park while sipping on a light rosé.
Escada Fiesta Carioca, $66
This is a new limited edition fragrance that was created to celebrate 25 years of Escada’s Summer Edition Perfumes. It's pretty little symphony of sweet fruity floral notes that’s girlish, pretty, and perfectly light and fresh for Spring and Summer. Housed in an ombre lime and neon pink bottle decorated with florals and hummingbirds this holds true with Escada’s traditional fragrance releases.
CK One Summer, $80
We're big fans of the original unisex CK One scent, and absolutely cannot get enough of this zingy summer version. This citrusy, fresh fragrance will make you feel summer-ready in a single spritz. Just make sure your boyfriend doesn't steal it from your shelf...
Kiehls, Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit, $42
Kiehls' Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit is perfect for those that can't get enough of a citrus buzz. With ginger thrown in with grapefruit and floral notes, it has a really zingy punch to it.
Marc Jacobs, Daisy
An oldie, but oh such a goodie. Daisy is a floral fragrance (the hint's in the name) that has a delicious warm woody undertone adding a certain sophistication to the lasting scent. Perfect for summer evenings or holiday date nights.
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, $73
This scent sums up the smells of holidays, Estee Lauder has brought back its cult classic Bronze Goddess that promises to transport you straight to a sunny beach. Think coconut, jasmine and a hint of suncream.
