Tea is the second most consumed drink, after water. So, a lot of people must be thrilled to hear that Starbucks has released a new line of Teavana Shaken Iced Tea Infusions. I know I am!
Yesterday I was invited to a media preview to taste the three new tea infusion flavours. What makes these teas new and improved is their more natural and strong taste of fruit because their fruit flavours actually come from freshly steeped fruit and botanical blends–instead of syrups. Plus, because these drinks are made with pure, house-steeped goodness, there have no artificial flavours or sweeteners–making this perfect summer tea 0 calories. But, if you’re like me and enjoy the sweeter things in life, you can get it naturally sweetened with sugar cane and it adds a tiny 45 calorie count. What's 45 calories anyway?
Here is a breakdown of the three new Teavana Shaken Iced Tea Infusions:
Teavana® Shaken Iced Peach Citrus Flavoured White Tea Infusion
eavana® White Tea combined with freshly steeped peach citrus fruit and botanical infusion. This one is my favourite, you can truly taste the peach and the white tea is very subtle.
Teavana® Shaken Iced Pineapple Flavoured Black Tea Infusion
Teavana® Black Tea combined with freshly steeped pineapple fruit and botanical infusion. This was a favourite among the media group and probably the sweetest tea of these three.
Teavana® Shaken Iced Strawberry Flavoured Green Tea Infusion
Lemonade Teavana® Green Tea combined with freshly steeped strawberry fruit and botanical infusion. You can really taste the strawberry, but the Green Tea is the most prominate of all the other teas. So, if you’re more into tea than fruit, this might be your best option.
Starbucks is all about personalization so you can order these drinks unsweetened or lightly sweetened and with lemonade or water.
