3 Must-Have Boots for Winter 2017

Taking a quick peep outside of my window, if don’t already have a pair of winter boots then you’re VERY behind and your feet and shoes are probably very wet and cold. If you think that winter boots don’t have to be so glorious because they’re just for the snow, think again. You can have your winter boots and look pretty in them too. Here are three must-have boots for the Winter 2016-2017 season.

Victorian Booties

You know the lace-ups that 19th century ladies used to wear? Yes? Well, they’ve made a comeback (it was bound to happen). They’re so feminine, yet gritty — think smooth leather that’s a little bit of rock’n’roll. They’re great to pair with your day or night outfits, and thanks to their mid heel, they’re practical for the wet, snowy weather too.

Combat Boots

These stuck around from last year, and if you have a pair from last year with a little bit of wear in it, that’s even better. The “gothic” look was revived at the 2016 Met Gala (remember Selena Gomez rocking a pair of combats with a long dress?). I prefer pairing these with jeans, a knitted sweater and a few leather accessories and I’m good to go.

Velvet Boots

If you’re going to invest in a new pair of boots this year, make them a velvet pair. Weather you’re a booties’ gal, over-the-knees chic or something in between, velvet is back and it looks gorgeous. They’re obviously the lesser practical pair of the three for winter boots – don’t think these boots will keep you safe and warm during a snow storm – but they’re great for those in-between winter days when it last snowed a few days ago, and the sidewalks have been shovelled. Even though black boots might be your go-to, step a little bit out of your comfort zone with velvet boots and opt for a burgundy or navy blue hair. I’m telling you, they’re absolutely stunning!
