Have you transitioned your closet from your summer clothes to your winter clothes? Depending on where you are in the home and native land of the cold, you only have a few weeks left before you’ll start to see some snow.
As much as I love dressing for the autumn weather – long sweaters, tall boots and little fuzzies – I’m always sad to see my summer faves go away. But, do not fear, because we’re going to share some tips that’ll help you to make the transition into warmer clothes a little slower – giving you a few more months to enjoy some beloveds from your summer attire.
Summer Tops
One of my favorite trends this summer has been the lace-up top. There are a million variations of this style, but you can always count on a lace-up top to be playful, comfortable, and showing just the right amount of skin. The Megan Lace up Neck + Shoulder Tee from boohoo.com has been a favourite of mine because it combines the right amount of lace and I like the texture of the material. An easy way to transition a summery piece like this is to swap your light-colored bottoms with something a little edgier and season appropriate for fall. Try black denim, a totally underrated basic!

T-Shirt Dress
Probably one of the easiest things to wear, the t-shirt dress has saved me from running late for class many times. I have three different colours in The Taylor Basic Curved T-Shirt Dress from boohoo.com and I literally cannot part with them. An easy fix is to layer the dress with a denim shirt or long sweater. And for those extra cold days, pair your outfit with high boots (which are totally trending right now) and tights if you must. Or you can throw on a scarf with some super cute booties and call it a day!

Accessories
Finally, don’t forget about accessorizing strategically to complete your fall look! Just like adding a statement necklace to a casual dress will instantly glam it up, you can mix in some distinctly fall accessories to tie together your summer-transitioned-to-fall look. Scarfs and hats are always great but leather accessories are also trending too. For school accessories, you can never go wrong with a chic-leather (or faux leather) backpack. It’ll complete any look and your shoulders will thank you later!
