Hello Babes! Today isn’t just Monday—It’s unofficially Music Monday! That means it’s time to talk about music. There is an abundance of music out there and so many different artists to discover. With the launch of music apps like Songza and Spotify, discovering new music has become a lot easier.

The Babe Blog would also like to help you discover new music! Every Monday we’ll be posting a few songs—both old and new—under a general playlist name. The blog will also feature one artist spotlight where we tell you a little about one of the artists included in the playlist. Hopefully this will help you spice up your music library with some new tunes and introduce you to some cool artists!

This week’s playlist is called A Late Night Drive In The City. Here are six songs you should be jamming out to during your late night drive in the city (click on the song title to listen to it on YouTube:

1. The City by The 1975 2. Hamptons by Blajk 3. Weston Road Flows by Drake 4. Cigarette Daydream by Cage The Elephant 5. LA Calling by Crystal Fighters 6. Where I’m Going by Sir Sly

Artist Spotlight: Blajk

Blajk

Blajk (pronounced “Black”) is an electro-rock group based in Toronto. The band consists of Jordan Radics on vocals, Paul Doherty on guitars and production, Brent Gordon on guitar, Tom Conrad on bass and keyboards and Raymond McTaggart on drums. They achieved major online success with the release of their singles “French Class” and “Hamptons” from their self-titled EP Blajk. They currently have over 500,000 plays on Spotify and are in the process of recording an album. The band has toured outside of Toronto and was one of the opening acts for Toronto’s very own Young Empires this year. I had the pleasure of seeing them perform at the Mod Club this year and it was a great show. Their new single “Good Liars” was released on April 2016 and they will be performing at the 2016 Bestival music festival on June 12. Look out for more new music from Blajk later this year and in the meantime, feel free to fill your music library up with their latest singles!
