As a female in Toronto who’s just as glued to the screen as her boyfriend is during the Raptors games, I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that girls love sports. Twitter is going crazy over this sexist shirt from a company called Live Love Game Day. They tweeted their latest shirt below with the caption “Girls who love baseball are rare. Wife em’ Up.”
Girls who love baseball are wifey material, sure. But having a love for the game isn’t the ONLY thing that makes them wifey material. And if they happen not to enjoy sports, it doesn't mean they're not wifey material either. This reasoning is why this shirt is being questioned as sexist.
Plenty of women have taken to twitter to express how sexist this shirt really is. But with no luck. The block button has been called into play.
Men have tweeted their concerns as well.
But if we were expecting an apology, or some sort of explanation, I wouldn’t hold my breath on it. It looks Live Love Game Day clapped back and released a very similar shirt but with football instead because the baseball version sold out in a few days!
